Two days, 12 participating venues, two beer gardens, robots, drones, soldering, glass blowing, food trucks, music, crafting, lasers, and that’s only the start! With so much to do and see and hear and make, we want participants to make the most of Maker Faire San Diego! Here you’ll see how to best explore our modern world faire.
We look forward to seeing you at Maker Faire San Diego 2016! Don’t forget to buy your tickets online!
Balboa Park can be accessed from most major freeways, however we understand that driving and parking can be difficult during major events. We highly recommend carpooling and parking at Inspiration Point, then taking the green tram into the heart of the Park. Tram hours of operation are 9:00 AM-8:00 PM. Click here for a Google Map to Balboa Park.
You can also visit Balboa Park using the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS), with easy access from the Downtown and Mission Valley areas.
We recommend purchasing your tickets online before October 1st. You’ll save a few dimes and time! Once you print your tickets at home, you can explore all venues and circuit stops at your convenience. No need to stop at a ticket booth!
There are three info booths and ticket stations at key locations in Balboa Park. You can purchase your tickets and general information about the event at these locations.
If you want to purchase your tickets during the event, look for ticket and info booths at:
Please make sure to have your tickets with you at all times during the event!
You will be able to find the most up-to-date schedule of events, performances, and makers right here. It’s growing by the minute so be sure to check back Saturday and Sunday morning! Check back here soon for highlights!
You can also browse through some of our 200+ makers on our Meet the Makers page.
We’re thrilled to be growing our Maker family in Balboa Park! Each venue will have different, fun, and amazing makers. Not to mention you will have general admission to all participating museums! Outdoor areas include the Plaza de Panama and the South Palisades Lot, however most of the even will be inside the venues this year and we encourage you to complete the circuit and visit them all! Well over 200 will be in attendance. All our circuit stops will be different so be sure to explore each.

With over 200 makers, the San Diego Made Bazaar, two stages for performances and presentations, tons of hands-on activities between venues, exhibitors, and the San Diego Maker’s Guild, and all spread across Balboa Park, we highly encourage you to wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle. (Please note each venue has its own food and drink policies.) Click here for a list of amenities in Balboa Park. Dress comfortably and keep an eye on the weekend forecast.
Be sure to share your experiences with us! We’ll be live on Twitter and Instagram during the event, and you can always check our Facebook Event for immediate updates. Follow and share what you’ve learned or made with us at #MakerFaireSanDiego!
We hope this helps you plan your day! We can’t wait to see you October 1st and 2nd!
